By: Neil Hirzig. This Learning Unit is dedicated mostly to understanding some of the basic functions used in modeling and rendering. We will also do some mesh modeling tutorials that include adding a texture to an object.
- View the Video Tutorials: Perspective and Orthographic Projection, Blender Layers, Blender Default File, Undo/Redo, Naming Objects, Transform Properties Panel, Global and Local Orientation, Pivot Points, Object centers, Dump Window, Render Window and Render Screen
- Work through (with your copy of Blender open) the 3 PDF tutorials: Mesh Modeling - Sofa, Mesh Modeling - Snowman and Snowman Animation. This should give you some good practice in manipulating basic primitive objects in Blender. Any files you might need for the PDF tutorials are located in the zip file associated with the tutorial. Click on the zip file link and download it to your computer. Open the zip file from there and extract the files.
